Voiles de Saint-Tropez 2026 — Charter a Superyacht for the Biggest Regatta in the Mediterranean

From September 26 to October 4, 2026, the Gulf of Saint-Tropez becomes one of the most extraordinary nautical spectacles in the world. More than 300 classic and racing sailboats — from J-Class to Dragons, from Maxis to Legends — take over the Gulf for nine days in a ballet of sails, varnished wood and carbon that exists nowhere else in the Mediterranean.

The Voiles de Saint-Tropez are far more than a regatta. It is the annual gathering of the global yachting elite — yacht owners, shipowners, naval designers, professional crews — in the most iconic setting on the French Riviera. And the best way to experience it — without question — is from the deck of a superyacht anchored in the Gulf.

International Yachts Charter and Brokerage XXIII offers dedicated charters for Voiles de Saint-Tropez 2026 — complete packages that turn this regatta week into an unforgettable experience. Our fleet is available for week-long charters from September 26 to October 4, with anchorage positions in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez secured by our team.

Why Voiles de Saint-Tropez Is the Autumn Yacht Event

The History of the Regatta

Voiles de Saint-Tropez — formerly known as Nioulargue — has existed since 1981. Created following a legendary duel between two iconic sailboats in the Gulf, it has become, in forty years, the world’s largest regatta for classic sailboats and racing yachts.

What sets the Voiles apart from every other Mediterranean regatta is the extraordinary mix of the fleet. You will find, side by side, 1930s J-Class restored at great expense, ultra-modern carbon racing maxis, classic varnished-wood sailboats, Dragons and 8 Metre (JI) yachts. Visually, it is unmatched.

Dates and Schedule 2026

Arrivées et enregistrements : 23-25 septembre 2026
Jour 1 de régate : 26 septembre 2026
Fin des régates : 3 octobre 2026
Soirée de clôture : 4 octobre 2026

Regatta schedule by class:

Classes are spread across several courses in the Gulf — the larger yachts on offshore courses, the smaller classics in waters closer to the old harbour. A well-positioned superyacht at anchor can watch several classes at once from the deck.

The Atmosphere — What No One Describes Properly

Voiles de Saint-Tropez has an atmosphere that photos cannot capture. In the morning — sails rise in an almost absurd silence over a Gulf that is still calm. In the afternoon — 300 sailboats race simultaneously in a relatively confined area, professional teams manoeuvre to the millimetre, and the tension is palpable from the deck of a superyacht. In the evening — life returns to the old harbour of Saint-Tropez, crews mingle with owners in the restaurants and bars of La Ponche.

It is the only event on the yachting calendar where the most demanding clientele and the most professional crews share the same space, the same passion and the same energy for nine days.

The Superyacht — The Best Grandstand for the Voiles

Why a Yacht Is the Only True Grandstand

From shore — from the old harbour or the quays of Saint-Tropez — you see the races from afar, through the crowd, with the limitations imposed by port infrastructure. The atmosphere is real, but proximity to the sailboats is limited.

From a superyacht anchored in the Gulf — the perspective is radically different. You are at the heart of the regatta. The J-Class pass within a few dozen metres of your deck. You can follow tactical duels between professional teams from your flybridge with binoculars. Your tender takes you directly to the liveliest areas of the course. In the evening, you sleep on the water, in the Gulf lit by the lights of Saint-Tropez.

It is the only way to experience the Voiles from the inside rather than from the shore.

The Best Anchorages for the Voiles

Central anchorage in the Gulf — the ideal position to watch all the courses. Shallow water, moderate protection — reserved for yachts with a shallow draft.

Baie de Canebiers — east of Saint-Tropez, sheltered, reachable by tender to the old harbour in 15 minutes. An excellent compromise between comfort at anchor and proximity to the races.

Baie des Salins — south of the Gulf, quieter, crystal-clear waters. Ideal for families or groups who want to alternate between watching the races and swimming.

Our captain knows these anchorages and how busy they are during the Voiles. Position is secured based on arrival — yachts arriving on September 24–25 have their pick of the best spots.

ANNAMIA — 43 metres, Baglietto tri-deck. The most generous entertaining space in our Voiles fleet. Her aft deck and flybridge can host 12 guests in comfort and elegance comparable to a floating luxury villa. The Baglietto silhouette in the Gulf during the Voiles is an image in itself.

A Typical Week Programme at the Voiles

Day 1 — Arrival and Settling In

Boarding from Saint-Tropez or Cannes. Cruise to the Gulf. Anchorage selection by the captain based on conditions and available positions. Aperitivo on deck with views of the first arrivals of the regatta fleet. Dinner in the old harbour of Saint-Tropez — our chief steward books the best tables.

Days 2 to 8 — The Races

Morning (8:00–10:00) — breakfast on board. The chef prepares it according to your preferences from the briefing. The regatta fleet starts to come alive — the J-Class and the larger yachts leave the harbour early.

Late morning (10:00–13:00) — racing begins. Optimal position in the Gulf based on the day’s courses communicated by the race committee. Your captain moves the yacht if necessary to optimise views of the busiest courses. Tender available to get closer to the race areas.

Lunch (13:00–15:00) — gourmet lunch on board prepared by the chef. Local produce from the Saint-Tropez market — Provençal vegetables, fish of the day, regional wines.

Afternoon (15:00–18:00) — racing continues. Tactical duels between the big classes are most intense in mid-afternoon. Swimming from the tender or the swim platform.

Evening — options depending on the group. Dinner on board in the Gulf facing the lights of Saint-Tropez, or tender to the old harbour for restaurants and the Voiles atmosphere.

Last Day — Closing

The closing night of Voiles de Saint-Tropez is one of the most festive moments on the Mediterranean yachting calendar. Our crew handles reservations and transfers so you can be at the heart of the party without any logistical constraints.

What Makes the Voiles Different from Other Events

Comparison with the Monaco Grand Prix

The Monaco Grand Prix is the most publicised event on the French Riviera — with charter prices to match. Voiles de Saint-Tropez offers an experience of comparable richness, in an incomparable natural setting, with shoulder-season rates.

September is the most beautiful time of year on the French Riviera — 24°C water, golden autumn light, summer crowds gone, rare mistral. The value-for-experience of the Voiles is objectively superior to most summer events.

Comparison with the Cannes Film Festival

The Cannes Film Festival is a corporate and cinematic event — the atmosphere is business-oriented. The Voiles are an authentic celebration of yachting and maritime passion — the atmosphere is radically different, more relaxed, more genuine.
