Day Boat Charter in Saint-Tropez — The Complete Day Charter Guide

Saint-Tropez from the sea — it is a radically different experience from Saint-Tropez on land. Pampelonne’s beaches accessible directly from the yacht with no taxi and no crowded shuttle, the secluded coves of the Gulf that only boats can reach, the village of Saint-Tropez seen from offshore with its colourful houses reflected in the water — and sunset over the Gulf from the deck of a boat privately chartered for the day.

A day boat charter in Saint-Tropez — or day charter — is the most elegant and memorable way to discover the Riviera. For a family day out, a birthday with friends, a corporate team-building event, or simply a luxury interlude between two meetings — a day charter turns an ordinary day into an extraordinary memory.

International Yachts Charter and Brokerage XXIII offers the FIART 39 Seawalker as an exclusive day charter in Saint-Tropez and the Gulf — up to 11 passengers, professional captain included, from €2,950 incl. VAT per day, excluding fuel.

What is a Day Charter?

A day charter is the hire of a boat with a captain for a full day — generally from 9am to 7pm, i.e. 8 to 10 hours at sea. Unlike a weekly charter, which requires planning several days and a substantial budget, a day charter is an accessible option that still offers all the benefits of a privately chartered boat.

What is included in a day charter:

✅ Bateau privatisé pour votre groupe exclusivement
✅ Capitaine professionnel certifié
✅ Équipements de sécurité conformes
✅ Assurance à bord
✅ Itinéraire personnalisé selon vos envies

What is not included:

❌ Carburant — réglé en fin de journée selon consommation réelle
❌ Nourriture et boissons — à apporter ou à commander
❌ Frais de port éventuels selon l'itinéraire

Why Saint-Tropez is the Best Destination for a Day Charter

The Gulf of Saint-Tropez — An Unrivalled Natural Haven

The Gulf of Saint-Tropez is one of the most beautiful and best-protected bays on the entire Côte d’Azur. Its expanse — 10 kilometres in diameter — offers an exceptional diversity of scenery and anchorages for a day at sea.

The mistral — the Riviera’s prevailing wind — shelters the Gulf thanks to the Saint-Tropez peninsula, which blocks north-westerly winds. The Gulf therefore enjoys milder cruising conditions than the open waters between Cannes and Nice.

Beaches — Accessible Without the Crowds

Saint-Tropez’s best-known beaches — Pampelonne, Tahiti, Salins, Graniers — are overrun every summer by tens of thousands of tourists. Access by car is a nightmare from July to August, car parks are full, and shuttles are packed.

From a boat — everything changes. The FIART 39 anchors directly off your chosen beach, and the tender or swim platform gets you onto the sand in just a few minutes. No queues, no parking, no crowds — just the beach and the sea.

Secret Coves — Only Accessible by Sea

A tour of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez reveals around ten coves accessible only from the sea — no road leads to them. These secluded coves, with their crystal-clear waters over white-sand bottoms and wooded cliffs, are the Gulf’s finest anchorages.

La Moutte Cove — at the foot of the Domaine de la Moutte, former property of the writer Colette. Crystal-clear water, fine sand, completely preserved from mass tourism.

Canebiers Cove — opposite Cap des Salins. Deep-blue water, sheltered from the wind, accessible only by boat.

The coves of the Peninsula — the peninsula’s west coast features a succession of small rocky coves with clear waters, perfect for snorkelling.

Club 55 and Beach Clubs — Arrive by Boat

Club 55 in Ramatuelle — the Pampelonne beach institution since 1955 — is a 10-minute cruise from Saint-Tropez. Our captain drops you directly onto the club’s beach from the boat — you arrive like the regulars, without the land logistics everyone else endures.

Our chief steward will book your table at Club 55 or at Nikki Beach ahead of your day charter — to be communicated during your pre-departure briefing.

The FIART 39 Seawalker — Our Day Yacht in Saint-Tropez

Why the FIART 39 for a Day Charter

The FIART 39 Seawalker was selected for our day charter fleet in Saint-Tropez for three specific reasons.

Speed — up to 42 knots, 25 knots cruising. The FIART 39 is one of the fastest 12-metre yachts available for charter in the Gulf. This speed allows you to cover a lot in one day — Saint-Tropez, Pampelonne, the secret coves, a stop in Cannes or at the Lérins Islands if the day allows.

Capacity — 12 passengers. The FIART 39 is one of the few units of this size that can comfortably accommodate 12 people. Perfect for groups of friends, extended families, or small corporate groups.

Comfort — walkaround design, large aft swim platform at water level, generous cockpit, forward cabin. The FIART 39 offers superior comfort and safety compared with standard rental boats — for a premium day at sea.

Day Charter in Saint-Tropez — Season and Weather

When to Charter in Saint-Tropez

The day charter season in Saint-Tropez runs from May to October.

May–June — the best weather conditions of the season. Water at 18–22°C, few people at sea, exceptional light. Ideal for groups who want to avoid the summer crowds.

July–August — peak season. Water at 24–26°C, maximum buzz in the Gulf, Club 55 and beach clubs at their best — but also at their busiest. Booking is mandatory several weeks in advance.

September–October — the best period according to our captains. Water still warm (22–24°C in September), the Gulf far less crowded, incomparable golden autumn light, rates unchanged. The ideal season for those who cannot stand the summer crowds.

Weather — The Mistral

The mistral — the prevailing wind from the Gulf of Gascony — can blow hard on the Côte d’Azur and make cruising uncomfortable for smaller units.

Our weather policy: if the mistral blows above 25 knots on the day of your charter — our captain will inform you 24 hours in advance and we will reschedule at no extra cost or refund you in full, according to your preference.

Weather in the Mediterranean is generally excellent from May to October — days of strong mistral are rare (less than 15% of the season) and often predictable several days in advance.

Frequently Asked Questions about Day Charter in Saint-Tropez

What is the minimum age to come on board? No minimum age — children are welcome on board. Our captain ensures children’s safety on board, and our team can provide suitable life jackets. We recommend bringing beach toys and snorkelling equipment suited to their size.

Can we bring alcohol on board? Yes — you may bring your own drinks. Our team can also arrange delivery of champagne, Provence rosé or spirits directly on board before embarkation.

What happens in case of bad weather? In case of strong wind (mistral above 25 knots) or adverse weather conditions — our captain may propose adjusting the itinerary to remain in the Gulf’s sheltered waters, or postponing the charter at no cost. The final decision always rests with the captain, who is the sole judge of navigation conditions.

Can we smoke on board? Only outdoors, on the aft deck or the swim platform. Never inside the boat.

Is there a toilet on board? Yes — the FIART 39 has full facilities with a WC and integrated shower in the forward cabin.

Can we fish from the boat? Yes — with a valid fishing licence. The Mediterranean around Saint-Tropez is rich in sea bream, sea bass and bluefin tuna. Our captain knows the best fishing spots in the Gulf.
