All our charters are governed by the MYBA (Mediterranean Yacht Brokers Association) contract — the international standard in the luxury yachting industry. It protects both the charterer and the owner regarding cancellation terms, return of the security deposit, and the handling of any disputes. It is the guarantee of a transparent and secure transaction.
The APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance) is an advance on the charter’s operating expenses — fuel, port fees, provisions, communications. It represents 25 to 30% of the base rate depending on the destination and planned itinerary.
What the industry doesn’t always say — the APA is refundable for the unspent portion. At the end of the charter, the captain provides a detailed account with all supporting documents. A group that cruises little and consumes little recovers a significant part of its APA.
The brief is the cornerstone of a successful charter.
