The Balearic Islands are the yacht charter destination offering the best value for money in the Western Mediterranean. Some of the clearest waters in the world, natural anchorages accessible only by sea, outstanding local cuisine — and rates 20 to 30% lower than the French Riviera for the same level of service and comfort.
International Yachts Charter and Brokerage XXIII offers a carefully curated selection of superyachts available for charter in the Balearics — 20 to 50 metres LOA, with STCW-certified crew and a transparent APA estimate from the very first quotation.
From Ibiza to Formentera, from Mallorca’s Costa Smeralda to Menorca’s UNESCO Biosphere Reserve — the Balearics bring together, across four distinct islands, everything the Mediterranean has to offer at its finest.
Ibiza is far more than its party reputation. The old town of Dalt Vila is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The south-west coves — Cala Conta, Cala Salada, Es Vedrà — are among the most photographed in the Mediterranean. Beach clubs — Blue Marlin, Ushuaïa, Nassau — are accessible directly by tender from your anchorage.
Ideal for: groups, beach clubs, nightlife, wild coves, families Season: May to October Rates: from €18,000/week
Formentera is the answer for those seeking what Ibiza was before it became world-famous. Accessible only by ferry or by sea, the island preserves a rare authenticity. Ses Illetes — the clearest beach in the Balearics — and Juan y Andrea — one of the best fresh-fish restaurants in the Mediterranean — are the two absolute musts of any Balearics charter.
Ideal for: couples, families, total disconnection, crystal-clear waters Season: May to October Rates: from €18,000/week (combined with Ibiza)
Mallorca is the largest of the Balearic Islands — 550 kilometres of coastline, dozens of coves, and the UNESCO-listed Serra de Tramuntana plunging straight into the sea. Palma de Mallorca has a modern marina capable of accommodating superyachts up to 80 metres. The south-east coves — Cala Pi, Cala Mondragó, Cala Figuera — are among the most sheltered in the entire Mediterranean.
Ideal for: long itineraries, cultural stopovers, families Season: May to October Rates: from €18,000/week
Menorca is the least touristy of the Balearics — 75% of its coastline is designated a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Cala Macarella and Cala Macarelleta are the two most spectacular coves in the archipelago — emerald waters, white limestone cliffs, pine forest at the water’s edge. Ciutadella, its historic harbour, is one of the most beautiful natural ports in the entire Mediterranean.
Ideal for: nature, authenticity, privacy, families Season: May to October Rates: from €18,000/week
The Balearics enjoy some of the best water quality in the Mediterranean — 15 to 30 metres of visibility in protected areas, UNESCO-listed Posidonia seabeds, and temperatures of 22 to 26°C from June to October. The crossing between Ibiza and Formentera offers shades of turquoise and emerald that our clients consistently compare to the Caribbean.
For a 35–45-metre superyacht, rates in the Balearics are 20 to 30% lower than peak season on the French Riviera. Berthing fees are significantly lower — a night at anchor in Formentera or in a Mallorca cove costs a fraction of a night in Cannes’ Vieux Port in high season. APA is therefore proportionally lighter.
May, June and September in the Balearics offer the best cruising conditions of the entire season — water already warm, marinas not saturated, anchorages available, exceptional Mediterranean light. Low- and mid-season rates provide access to outstanding yachts with a controlled budget.
The most beautiful coves in the Balearics — Ses Illetes in Formentera, Cala Conta in Ibiza, Cala Macarella in Menorca — are accessible only by sea. No access road, no parking, no day-trippers. A superyacht anchored 200 metres from shore sends its tender straight to the beach.

Draft is decisive in the Balearics. Our RILASSATA — 2.25 metres — and our ABELY — 2.00 metres — can access the shallow coves of Formentera and Menorca that are inaccessible to deep-draft superyachts.

May — June — International Yachts Charters and Brokerage’s number-one recommendation for the Balearics. Water already at 20–22°C, anchorages available, low-season rates, exceptional light.
July — August — peak season. Anchorages at Ses Illetes and Cala Conta are sometimes saturated — arriving early in the morning is essential. Maximum festive atmosphere in Ibiza.
September — October — the ideal season for connoisseurs. Water still at 24–25°C, summer crowds gone, restaurants available, reduced rates. The best value for money of the year.
Peak season in the Balearics — July and August — should be booked 3 to 6 months in advance. May, June and September offer more flexibility, but the best yachts are booked quickly.
